🌙 Message of the Week: Knock, and Keep Knocking

There is something achingly familiar—almost tender—in the story Jesus tells of the friend arriving at midnight.

It isn’t the right time.
The house is still. The door is closed. The world has gone quiet.

It’s inconvenient.
It’s uncomfortable.
It’s the kind of moment most of us would turn away from.

And yet… the knocking comes.

Not carefully measured.
Not rehearsed or refined.
Just an honest, pressing need that refuses to wait for morning.

A quiet insistence: please… I need help.

And Jesus tells us something remarkable—
the door is opened.

Not because the request was perfectly timed.
Not because the words were carefully chosen.
But because the knocking did not stop.

Because of persistence.
Because of need that dared to be spoken.

🙏 What does this mean for us?

We so often hold ourselves back from God.

We wait until we feel ready—
until our thoughts are clearer, our hearts calmer, our words more worthy.

We tell ourselves: not like this… not yet.

But this story gently undoes that thinking.

It invites us to come—not polished, but present.

Come when it’s messy.
Come when it feels inconvenient.
Come when you’ve already asked once… twice… and you’re not sure you should ask again.

Come anyway. And keep knocking.

Because God is not wearied by your voice.
He is not frustrated by your returning.
He is not standing behind a door, hoping you will go away.

He is a loving Father—attentive, patient, and open-hearted—who welcomes your persistence, not as a burden, but as a sign of trust.

✨ A gentle thought for this week

Is there something you’ve quietly set aside?
A prayer that once felt urgent, but now feels too heavy… too repeated… too much?

Maybe you’ve wondered if it’s time to stop asking.

But what if this is your moment to return to that door?

To stand there again, softly, honestly… and knock.

Not with perfect faith.
Not with certainty or strength.

Just with faith enough to lift your hand and try once more.

đź’¬ Prayer for the Week

Lord,
In the quiet places where I hesitate, meet me.

When I feel unsure, give me the courage to come as I am.
When I feel unheard, steady my heart to keep knocking.

And when the door opens—
whether gently or in ways I did not expect—
help me to trust Your goodness in what You give.

Amen.
