Twice a year, in the seasons of Advent and Lent, we invite the whole church family to meet together midweek to study the Bible, explore a Christian course or book together, and grow in faith. Our study groups are a chance to slow down, ask questions, share thoughts and get to know one another better, and everyone is welcome.

Advent 2026: there will not be an Advent study course this year.
Lent 2027: our Lent course is still being planned, and the details are to be confirmed. If you would like to take part, please check back on this page at any time, as we will add the dates, times and course here as soon as they are decided.
Advent: preparing for Christmas
Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas. It is a season of hope and expectation, when we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus. In the busyness of the run-up to Christmas, our Advent groups offer a peaceful space to reflect on what Christmas is really about.
Lent: the journey to Easter
Lent is the season of around six weeks, beginning on Ash Wednesday, that leads up to Easter. Traditionally a time of reflection, prayer and preparation, it remembers the forty days Jesus spent in the wilderness. Our Lent groups help us walk that journey together, as we look towards the cross and the joy of Easter morning.
What happens at a study group?
- We meet once a week, midweek, through the season.
- We look at a passage of scripture or a chapter of the course or book we are following.
- We talk it through together, sharing questions, thoughts and experiences in a relaxed and friendly way.
- We pray together for one another and for the world.
You don’t need to know the Bible well, and you never have to speak if you would rather just listen. Whether you have been coming to church for years or are just starting to explore faith, you will be very welcome.
Our study courses can be a wonderful way of returning to faith if you have been away from church for a while, or of learning more about the Christian faith in a friendly, unhurried setting. Many people find that exploring big questions alongside others, with time to talk and no pressure, helps their faith to grow.
