Our 9.30 am Sunday Service at St Mary’s
Our 9.30 am service is the main weekly gathering at St Mary’s, drawing our largest congregation. Whatever Sunday you come, you can be sure of a warm welcome, uplifting worship, and time to share refreshments, with he congregation and Encounter afterwards.
What to Expect
- Around 80–100 people gather each week.
- Services last about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
- Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after every service.
- A friendly mix of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs.
- Bible readings, prayers, and a sermon each week.
- Children are warmly welcomed — with Junior Church or All Age worship on most Sundays.
Monthly Pattern of Services
- 1st Sunday – Holy Communion & Junior Church
Communion from Common Worship in modern language, with choir, organ, and sometimes band. - 2nd Sunday – All Age Service (Lay-led)
Informal and lively, with a theme, talk, game, children’s craft activities, prayer stations, and music led by the band. - 3rd Sunday – Celtic Communion
A reflective service with a creation/environmental theme. The Treblemakers (Junior Choir) sing. - 4th Sunday – Holy Communion & Junior Church
As on the 1st Sunday. - 5th Sunday – Holy Communion
A service of Holy Communion led by our clergy and music team.
Festival Services
On special occasions (Easter, Christmas, Harvest, Remembrance), the 9.30 am service sometimes moves to 10.30 am. Please check the website for updates.
