In this Gospel reading, John the Baptist points to Jesus and declares something extraordinary:
“Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
John doesn’t make it about himself — he simply points people towards Christ. And two of his disciples respond in the simplest, most powerful way: they follow Jesus.
When Jesus turns and asks them, “What are you looking for?” it’s not a test — it’s an invitation. A moment to reflect on what truly matters:
peace, hope, meaning, healing, truth.
They ask where he is staying, and Jesus replies with words that still speak to us today:
“Come and see.”
Faith often begins just like that — not with having everything figured out, but with a willingness to take a step closer. To follow. To see for ourselves.
Today, Jesus still asks the same gentle question:
What are you looking for?
And his invitation remains: Come and see.
🙏 Short Prayer
Lord Jesus, help us to recognise you, follow you, and stay close to you.
Draw us deeper into your love and lead us in your truth.
Amen.
