Holy Grounds is our community café at St Mary’s — a relaxed space to pause, meet friends, and find a listening ear. Whether you’re popping in after the school run, taking a break from shopping, or need company, you’re very welcome.
When & where
- Days: second Saturday of the month
- Time: 10.30 am – 12.30 pm
- Location: St Mary’s Church, Bideford (level access via the main porch)
If you’re visiting for the first time, look for the Holy Grounds sign and follow the smell of fresh coffee!
What we serve
- Freshly brewed tea and coffee (decaf available)
- Hot chocolate & squash
- Homemade cakes and biscuits (gluten-free options when possible)

Holy Grounds is a place to belong. You’ll find:

Accessibility & safeguarding
- Step-free entrance and accessible toilet
- Seating with back support; space for buggies and wheelchairs
- All team members follow our Parish Safeguarding Policy and are DBS-checked where required
Volunteer with us
We’d love an extra pair of hands — bakers, brewers, welcomers and washer-uppers!
- Time commitment: Flexible, typically once a month
- Training: We provide a short welcome and hygiene briefing
- Next steps: Speak to a host during café hours or contact the Parish Office
