“While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.” — Luke 24:51
The Ascension is easy to overlook, tucked between the wonder of Easter and the fire of Pentecost. But this moment matters. As Jesus rises out of sight, his final posture toward his disciples is one of blessing — hands raised, grace flowing.
He doesn’t leave them empty. He leaves them commissioned. “You will be my witnesses,” he says, “to the ends of the earth.” Heaven didn’t take Jesus away from us; it enthroned him over everything and poured out his Spirit to dwell within us.
So this week, remember: Christ reigns. You are blessed. You are sent.
