Encounter is a weekly Sunday service at 11.15am (come at 11am for coffee!).
Approaching 2024 service dates: May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th. June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th.
If you fancy something a little more informal and contemporary, then Encounter could be what you’re looking for!
Led by our Encounter Team, Mark & Rachel Porthouse, Dave & Sheila Pullin and David Sparkes, ‘Encounter’ aims to do just what it says on the tin – provide an environment that will enable people to encounter God, with contemporary worship and an informal vibe.
The tagline for the new service is ‘Come, Encounter, Receive’:
- Come – Be welcomed and accepted as you are, no previous church experience required!
- Encounter – Meet the Living God
- Receive – The Holy Spirit, prayer, encouragement, support, friendship.
Children:
Jesus loved children and so do we. While we can’t (yet) run children’s groups, there is a dedicated children’s corner in church for under 5s with toys and books, and there will be tables with activities to enable 6-11 year olds to get creative.
Prayer:
At the end of every service there will be the opportunity to receive prayer.
Refreshments:
Please join us from 10:45am for refreshments with St Mary’s 9.30am congregation.
